Portfolio Review

CURATORIAL FEEDBACK For photographers ready to turn photographs into artwork.

A portfolio is not a collection of strong images. It is a coherent presentation of work — shaped by selection, sequencing, and clarity of intention.

This portfolio review is designed for photographers who want precise, honest and constructive feedback on their work: what holds, what weakens the narrative, what belongs together, and what should be removed.

The aim is not to please — it is to strengthen your work and help you present it on a professional level, whether for submissions, publications, exhibitions or long-term artistic development.

Availability is intentionally limited and offered selectively.

What this review includes

Depending on the review-package you choose, you will receive focused critique of your portfolio or current series, curatorial feedback on selection, coherence and artistic direction, guidance on editing and sequencing (how the work reads as a body), recommendations for restructuring your portfolio for professional contexts, and clear next steps for strengthening your project or series.

The review is grounded in my artistic practice and my curatorial perspective as co-founder and Chief Editor of DODGED Magazine.

Who this is for

This format is ideal if you want to refine a series into a coherent body of work, are preparing a submission (publication, open call, curatorial selection), feel your portfolio lacks clarity or consistency, want a professional outside eye — calm, precise, and uncompromising in quality — or want direction without generic advice.

This is not technical troubleshooting. It is artistic critique and portfolio development.

How it works

After booking, you will receive an email with detailed submission instructions. The process follows three clear steps.

First, you submit your work — either as a portfolio or a focused series, together with a short contextual statement, or simply by sharing a link to your portfolio.

Second, I review your material through a curatorial and artistic lens, focusing on visual coherence, depth, authorship and presentation.

Third, you receive structured, in-depth feedback in a personal video call with me, where we discuss strengths, development potential and concrete next steps for your work.

What to submit

Please prepare a link to your portfolio (website / PDF / gallery) or a selection of 15–25 images, as well as a short note (5–10 sentences) outlining what you are working on and what you want to improve.

If you are preparing a specific submission, you may also include the call / magazine / exhibition context and a draft statement or short bio (optional).

Availability and selection

Portfolio reviews are offered in limited availability due to ongoing artistic work and production schedules. If you are unsure whether this format is the right fit, please use the contact form before booking.

Outcome

The goal is clarity. After the review, you should know which images truly belong in the work, what the series communicates (and what it currently doesn’t), how to structure and present the portfolio professionally, what photos to submit if you are preparing a submission, and what the next concrete step should be.
